Message Seventeen

Just a quick message to say thank you to Liz's friends at The Well Church who had a special event praying and fasting for Liz.  Also Asli and Hana (old - well young - Leicester friends) who visited despite train chaos.

It was upsetting to find Liz weeping silently when we arrived in the morning.  She was so stiff and uncomfortable.  We set to work massaging her legs.  It was interesting to note that it was her left leg that was in the most pain, which perhaps indicates the numbness is subsiding.  Her nurses Helen and Alistair then put Elizabeth's bed into the alarmingly named 'cardiac' position, and she felt better.  Joanna read to us, and we played Elizabeth some more music.  We all noted that Liz's facial expressions are returning gradually.

The move to Leicester is not going to be for 3 to 4 days we're told, which means definitely not yet, and after that there's no guarantee.

Our host family is able to let us use their house, so tomorrow we will be 'Yorkshire' again.

  1. Thank you Andrew for sharing daily. A great idea in many ways, definitely making it less onerous on you than trying to reply to every enquiry and so thoughtful to enable people to (or at least it seems that way to me) almost be there with Elizabeth and you all through your words, so helpful to those with you in thought and in prayer. Playing musical and reading to Elizabeth is, I’m convinced, an enormous help to her and today’s news that her facial expressions are returning, is wonderful. The left leg pain is hopefully a blessing currently in disguise. God bless you all with renewed strength and trust each day as you continue to praise Him through all of this. Wendy

  2. Good to hear of movement in the face. My (very limited) understanding of the nervous system leads me to think that if the face moves the arms may be next. Am I wrong? Keep those muscles working.

  3. Every little step of improvement gives me more and more encouragement. I had my own little silent tears here today for all of the ups and downs Elizabeth is facing. Give her a big hug from us xxx

  5. Each week our life group spends time praying for Liz, and for all of you. TLC is standing with you, praising God for every small improvement, and praying for her continued recovery and the mountains still to be moved. We pray too that the move to Leicester will go well when it happens, and we would love to see you soon.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 15:13
